Fort Gratiot Series – Prototype #2

Prototype #2 of the seven-instrument Fort Gratiot Series is a Lil Dub slope shoulder acoustic built with a warm, understated mix of traditional tonewoods. The Sitka spruce top is paired with black walnut back and sides, while Jatoba, also known as Brazilian cherry, is used for the bridge and fretboard. Bloodwood binding adds a subtle contrasting edge, complemented by a box elder rosette and McLaro walnut head plate.

With a comfortable 25″ scale, bone nut and saddle, and 18:1 Grover tuners, Prototype #2 was built with the same attention to detail found throughout the Fort Gratiot Series. This guitar does have a small cosmetic ding in the upper bout near the neck heel. The imperfection does not take away from the character of the instrument, but the price has been reduced accordingly, making this handcrafted prototype available for $800.00.
